The first project where Maua brought together our Italian roots with an international cinematic vision.

Produced by Rebecca Morandi, directed by Pietro Cornini, with Nicola Ciccarelli as Director of Photography, Il Ragazzo del Cavalcavia was produced between Italy and the United States by Maua and Neway, bringing together a predominantly young Italian crew and an international creative approach.

The film stars Carmine Buschini, Nina Pons, and the acclaimed Licia Navarrini.

Inspired by a tragic local news story, Il Ragazzo del Cavalcavia follows Giacomo, a young man consumed by a profound sense of emptiness and the feeling that he is living a life he never chose.

Over the course of one night, Giacomo finds himself on a highway overpass, where a series of choices leads toward a tragic mistake that will change the lives of everyone involved.

The short film premiered in 2025 and went on to have a festival run, including its World Premiere at Ennesimo Film Festival and selections at festivals including Ardea Film Festival.

A film that marked the beginning of Maua’s journey between Italy and the international film world.
